Watermelon Card Craft

Hello friends!!!

This week we are inspired by Watermelon!!! The perfect fruit for summer!!

Let’s make a fun Watermelon Card Together!

You could even make a whole plate of fruit if you’d like!!

We’ll start by gathering everything we’ll need to create the card!

A card base, Vellum, red cardstock, green cardstock circles, and a diecut “happy summer” sentiment!

Let’s build the watermelon slice!

Fold the red paper in half and trace a triangle to cut out!

Layer the scalloped dark green circle over the lighter green circle to create a watermelon rind!

When you set the rind on top of the red melon slice, trim the extra corners!

Draw black seeds and white highlights!

Mount the melon slice on to the vellum, adding glue beneath it!

Glue can show up beneath vellum so let’s glue underneath the melon slice to attach it to the card base!

Add in the “happy summer” sentiment and let’s build mini-watermelon slices!

Taking circles of red, light green, and dark green, we’ll cut slices out of them!

We can also punch out stars to add some extra fun!

Add your stars and slices and decorate however makes you most happy!!

Have an extra slice? You could make a whole fruit plate out of paper fruits!!

Yum!!

Now you have a tasty and fun summertime card!!

Thanks for creating something sweet today!!!

See you next time for another weekly Make and Take Craft!!!
