Miniature Plant Shelf Craft

Hello friends!!!

Are you ready to make another magical shelf creation?

Let’s add on to last weeks bookshelf by creating a Little Plant Shelf!!

Follow along in the video below:

This shelf is so fun to create!

With little corks as the pots, paper crafted leaves, and treasures galore- this shelf is a treasure on its own!

Let’s grab our materials and our inspiration and create!

Chipboard will act as our shelving! Giving the first piece a bend will give us a perfect “L” shape to start!

From there you can add on shelves and cubbies to your hearts content! Hot glue will bond them strong!

You can even add moss or glitter to the glued corners, for an extra magical look!

To create a plant pot, grab a cork! You could keep it tall, or cut it short!

Hollow out a bit of the center of the pot to be able to put your plants in!

You could add ‘dirt’ with little glass beads, or golden mica!

There are SO many plants you could make!! You could be inspired by real houseplants or magical imaginary plants!!

Here’s a long trailing plant, sort of like a pothos!

To make these long stems we’ll take a thin strip of paper and fold it in half to create something sturdy! Curl that around a skewer and curl it!

To make the leaves we’ll fold a strip into fourths. Then cut out leaves shapes, this will give us a bunch of leaves all at once!

Glue those on and taa-daa you have a plant!

Now let’s make an imaginary plant!

We’ll grab a heavier cardstock to make a tall stem, then cut some leaves out!

Snipping along the edges of the leaves and separating the tabs to create a frayed edging!

Glue those stems inside your pot! You could use little rocks to prop it up.

Curling your leaves around the skewer helps give them a lively look! Attach them in alternating ways and add it to your shelf!

Using a flower punch, let’s make a “Hello Sunshine” pop-up!

You can place this anywhere on your shelf as a sweet sentiment.

Any treasures or colors you love can be added! You could make a rock stack with a little ‘air plant’ in it! You could build a potion bottle made entirely out of moss!

Whatever inspires you most you can add to your shelf!

Oh, let’s add one more plant just for fun!

How many plants is too many? No such thing!!

I especially love folding the leaves in half so they have that natural vein!

Now that’s a magical Plant Shelf!!

Thanks so much for creating something so lively and full of joy!!

You can come in and collect everything you need for this craft, any time!

See you soon!!
